For Melina's Birth Mother

I saw this on someone else's blog and I can't help but cry as I think of Melina's birth mother. I think of her often and pray that some how she knows that her little girl is being loved and well cared for. I pray that by God's power and a miracle that she too would hear of His love and come to know Him. What a powerful, wonderful song. I had to share it.

Wonderful Progress!

It has been a while since I have blogged. Melina is doing wonderful. Since Barry has been home she has been making a lot of progress. For those that don't know, Barry took a job that was away from us. He came home on the weekends, but for 4 months was gone during the week. It was a long 4 months. It took some time for Melina to reattach to him and we are still working on that. Now that he is home for good she is doing much better. I have actually had a couple days where I have been gone all day and she has done well. We have noticed that she is beginning to play by herself for a little while, maybe 5-7 min. Hey, I'll take whatever I can at this point! She is still sleeping in our room and primarily in the bed with us. I know, many of you are gasping. I have thrown out ALL my rules with this little one! She is truly precious and she will eventually be in the bed with Jie Jie, i.e. Meredith.
I have noticed that she is going to be a very independent little girl. She wants control and to do things herself. Typical little girl, huh? I don't think she gets the control thing from me. Hee! Hee! Hee! (Don't ask my husband.)
I am sooo thankful for her and the joy that she has brought to our household. She is a testimony of God's love, His care, His grace, and so much more.
Our biggest progress came last week when she stayed in nursery the entire time and was happy! She didn't even cry! I actually got to hear a message. She likes church and all the people. When we got there she made a bee line for the nursery and said, "Play, play.." So when she was contently playing I snuck out and she had a great time. It helped that Pat played with her. She really takes to men. We are going to have to watch her.
